remarks See archives for draft report. K. Heck was principal investigator for this project. All specimens frozen and when returned to laboratory soft parts discarded. Some valves have had a strip of periostracum removed and the annuli marked. Lake elevation: 623 m; lake surface area: 23.1 hectares; basin area: 131.1 hectares; maximum lake depth: 8 m; constant lake outlet: no; lake stratification: yes. 8 valves embedded in epoxy resin. Thin sections were made using a diamond rock saw and polished on a lapidary wheel. 18 thin sections were prepared and housed in a plastic box. Orson topographic map. Corresponding valves of 3 measured valves sacrificed for chemical analysis.
