remarks See archives for draft report. K. Heck was principal investigator for this project. All specimens frozen and when returned to laboratory soft parts discarded. Some valves have had a strip of periostracum removed and the annuli marked. Lake elevation: 439 m; lake surface area: 20 hectares; basin area: 40 hectares; maximum depth: 12 m; constant outlet: no; lake stratification: yes. 4 valves measured, corresponding valves sacrificed for metal analysis. 7 valves imbedded in epoxy resin for thin sections cut on diamond rock saw. thin sections polished on lapidary wheel. 17 thin sections are mounted on slides.
