remarks Altitudes converted from feet as read from maps, rounded to nearest 5 m. In G. C. Region collection, material from Pilsbry & Ferriss 1906 trip, data supplemented from Pilsbry field notes. 'G. C.' number = serial no. for Grand Canyon Region Studies of E. E. Spamer. GC-429 (lectotype, ANSP 80707), GC-430 (paralectotypes, ANSP 371713). Altitude approx. Original label reads in part, 'pronounced dwarf ashmuni by Bartsch, Dec. '05'. Erected as Sonorella hachitana ashmuni Pilsbry (1905, Proc. ANSP, 57:259, based on syntypic suite ANSP 80707. The name S. compar Pilsbry was erected as a nomen novum for the preoccupied S. ashmuni Bartsch, 1904, in Pilsbry & Ferriss (1919, Proc. ANSP 70:296, footnote 3). Lectotype selected by Pilsbry (1939, ANSP Mon. 3, pt. 1, vol. 1, p. 315, fig. 182, middle and left lower figures {3 views of lectotype}). Lectotype and paralectotypes are in collections under Sonorella compar Pilsbry in Pilsbry & Ferriss, 1919.
