remarks For original jar labels and alphabetical listing of taxa in jars see ANSP archive collection 201-i(a1 and a2) and for notebooks with anatomical information see archives collection 454. Alcohol collection was accessioned at ANSP as no. 372 in 1877. Old jars with original labels maintained in malacology alcohol collection area. Anatomical notes are in notebook 2:16-18. 1 male 2 females. Johnson (1970:356) noted figured specimen not located, but USNM 86597 marked 'Mohawk, New York, ex Lewis' is labeled holotype. Johnson (1974:80) designated USNM 86597 as lectotype. This is an invalid lectotype designation as the specimen marked holotype is not from the type locality.
