remarks From 1 sq. ft. area at limit of accessibility--extremely dense vegetation--at spring in Spring Canyon (or a supplementary spring head, or a plunge from an obscured part of the stream coming from the spring), in a dark hole with overhang of densely packed roots matted with mud, sand, and gravel; water clear but turbid when disturbed; swift current; substratum of rocks, gravel, sand, mud; human use light. Collected dead from water. Locality is same 1 sq.-ft. plot collected 3 August as station 11b. Lot includes uncounted fragments.
