Remarks

ANSP 178635

remarks As with Calliostoma fascinans (in the same paper), Clench & Turner (and C. L. Richardson latterly) assumed ANSP 178786 to be the “type” cited in the original description, despite its different number. Its measurements are closer than with fascinans, of which there were clearly multiple specimens. Both this lot and 178786 are considered syntypes in the original. PRC 17 Jul 2015.
