Remarks
ANSP 399800
remarks Original data states "five days after blizzard of '96. Large numbers of Spisula solidissima still left on beach in ridges & waves from 6" to 3' deep, up to 4 ' of sand washed out. The Lunatia plus Polinices duplicatus, Busycon canaliculatum and some battered Ensis directus were mixed in the piles. According to residents, local commercial fishermen collected thousands of pounds of conch (both Busycon) before we got there. We collected every Lunatia we found, so ratio of Lunatia/Polinices is skewed in favor of Lunatia.
