ANSP 97225

annotation 01. Note: Shell is consistent with Phenacolimax (Insulivitrina) morcidus (Gould) endemic to Porto Santo. It may have been confused with P. (I.) teneriffae (A & G), but this cannot be considered a base for designation of types. Lowe never described a new taxon teneriffae, only referred to previous descirption of Quoy & Gaimard. Therefore this specimen should be rejected as “cotype.” - H. W. Walden Sep. 1981
