remarks For original jar labels and alphabetical listing of taxa in jars see ANSP archive collection 201-i(a1 and a2) and for notebooks with anatomical information see archives collection 454. Alcohol collection was accessioned at ANSP as no. 372 in 1877. Old jars with original labels maintained in malacology alcohol collection area. notes refer to letter from Bishop S. Elliott of 2 June 1856. Anatomical notes are in notebook 1:10. 9 females, 3 males with variegated strings. Anatomical notes published by Lea (1858:57-58) Jour. ANSP spelling changed from pullatis lea, 1856 to pullatus Lea, 1856. This is a justified emendation (ICZN 33(b)(ii)). Label listed 12 specimens but there appear to be 15 specimens in the jar. The two very small specimens are questionable. Johnson (1970:326) designated USNM 86020 as lectotype. Johnson and Baker (1973:167) list ANSP 127064 as a paratype (paralectotype).
