Primary Type: holotype Secondary Type: P [<0446> (8) states 'received four specimens, marked "36028–31, Physa hirsuta, Ten. Woods, Caulfield." The locality, description and comparison of P. crebriciliata suit "hirsuta", exactly. I presume, therefore, that the name was changed in course of publication, and that the real types of "crebriciliata" are the specimens marked "hirsuta".'; <0088> (223) listed Physa hirsuta Hedley, 1917 as a new available name] Tenison-Woods, J.E. 1878. p.63
